The Club and Membership
Palms Health and Fitness (the “Club”) is a proprietary club owned by Potters Leisure Ltd (the “Owner”), located at Potters Resort, Coast Road, Hopton-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk NR31 9BX and administered by the manager of the Club (the “Manager”) or by such person as the owner shall nominate.
Persons wishing to become members of the Club are required to complete the official application form.
Absolute discretion is granted to the Owner and the Manager to reject any application or renewal for membership, and in such cases any monies sent will be immediately refunded.
Each member will receive a swipe card, which is the property of Palms Health and Fitness Club. If you/we terminate your membership, the swipe card must be returned to the Club.
The swipe card may only be used by the named member, it is not transferable or to be used by any other person. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in the termination of your membership.
If you lose your membership swipe card a £5.00 fee will be charged for a replacement.
Membership will be renewed monthly or annually by payment to the Club of the amount due on or before the expiry date. Palms Health and Fitness Club does not operate a membership contract.
Each membership month runs from the 1st to the last day of each month. New members initially joining the Club part way through a month will be charged a pro-rata payment for the remaining days.
Current monthly paying members renewing their membership within the first 10 days of the month will be charged a full month’s membership fee and renewal date backdated to the 1st of the month. If a monthly paying member has not accessed the Club within the first 10 days a pro-rata payment will be charged for the remainder of the month.
Current members renewing their membership after the 15th of the month will be charged the remainder of the month and the subsequent month’s payment.
Memberships can be frozen for holidays or sickness or at the discretion of the Club Management. A minimum freeze of 1 month is permitted and can be frozen to a maximum of 6 months. After 6 months a frozen membership will be terminated unless prior agreement with the Club Management has been made.
Membership Benefits and Data Protection
As a member of the Club you are eligible for a range of benefits applicable to other products and brands owned by Potters Leisure Limited. These can include exclusive discounts on One Night Breaks and Aphrodite treatments, Club Rock membership and more, as may be detailed and offered from time to time.
When you join the Club, we need the following information as a minimum: your name, email address, postal address, telephone contact number, date of birth, health details and financial details for payment.
All of the information we request from you is needed in order to provide you with the benefits of the Club. We cannot provide your club membership without it. Membership of the Club offers wider exclusive benefits to other facilities and brands at Potters Resort who may contact you from time to time to appraise you of any specific information that your membership makes you eligible for.
Under current Data Protection Legislation, your membership of the Club means that we have a legitimate interest in sending you this information. This will be during your membership and up to 18 months from the expiry date of your membership. You will always have a choice to stop hearing from us at any time if you no longer find our communications of interest.
We promise to treat your data with the utmost respect and you can find details about our Data Protection policies and our Contract Promise on our website at www.pottersholidays.com/web-policies.
Standing order is a payment option and is processed on the 1st of each month. At least 14 days are required to set up a standing order. Standing order payments are controlled by the payee (member).
Potters Leisure Ltd has no control over the amount or frequency of payment.
Standing orders can be cancelled by the payee at any time however the Club Administrator must be informed in writing or by email so a record can be made to Alison Hubbard, Palms Health and Fitness Club, Coast Road, Hopton-on-Sea NR31 9BX or firstname.lastname@example.org
Membership amounts changed by the payee without authorisation from the Club will result in access being denied and the possible curtailment of the membership.
The Club has no control over standing order payments, it is therefore imperative that when cancelling payment, the bank controlling the standing order is fully informed. We strongly advise you check the payment has stopped being made from your account as refunds will not be made by the Club should an error be made by the bank or yourself.
General Membership Information
On entering the Club all members must report to reception and swipe their membership card. If you have forgotten your card please inform a Palms Team Member who will manually access your membership details and allow entry to the Club.
The Owner or the Manager at their absolute discretion may at any time terminate the membership of any member. For a major breach or several minor breaches of the terms & conditions it shall be at the sole discretion of the Club Manager/Owner whether a member’s subscription shall be repayable to him/her in whole or in part in any case of termination of membership.
Members accept and agree to be bound by the rules of the Club on commencing their membership. These rules are displayed prominently in the Club entrance. Members will be given advance notice of any changes made to the Club rules, use of facilities or opening times.
The Owner in its sole discretion may at any time vary these rules or any membership fee or any charges for the use of any or all facilities. Notice of such variation shall be given to members by exhibition thereof on the Club’s Notice Board. If you do not agree with any changes you have the right to cancel your membership with no penalty.
Any dispute or difference, which may arise in regard to the interpretation of these rules, shall be determined by the Manager. If agreement is not reached, you have the right to allow an independent body to arbitrate the dispute.
The times at which any or all of the facilities shall be available to members and guests shall be at the discretion of the Owner or the Manager. Any or all of the facilities may be closed at any time for the purpose of cleaning, decorating, repairs, staff training or for special functions. If this is the case we will inform members in advance if possible. See the Notice Board as you enter the main entrance to the Health Club complex. The cost of membership reflects that we also operate a Leisure Resort as well as a Health and Fitness Club and some Club facilities may be closed when used for Resort activities.
A member bringing a guest shall be responsible for the good conduct of such guest whilst on Club premises and shall ensure such guest complies with the rules of the Club. A member shall not leave the Club premises before their guest.
The Owners and its employees will not be liable in any way for the loss of, or damage to the property of a member or guest or for personal injury or death of, any member or guest, except to the extent that such loss, damage, personal injury or death arises from the wilful act, neglect or default of the Owner or any of its employees or agents.
Members and their guests are advised in the interest of security not to leave money or valuables in the Club. Members should use the lockers provided. No clothes should be left in the changing cubicles, fitness areas or on open view to aid safety and security. Lockers require a £1 coin which is refundable when you return the key back to the locker. Locker keys should be kept on your person at all times.
All members and guests must please park their cars across the road from Potters Resort main entrance at all times. Only disabled users are permitted to park on the main resort and a valid disabled permit must be displayed.
A Solarium is available in a separate room for persons over 18 years of age. Instructions are posted in plain view and a disclaimer must be completed by those using these facilities. The Owner shall not be liable for any consequences of any person failing to follow such instructions and shall be entitled to remove from the Club forthwith any such person. Eye protection must be worn whilst using the Solarium.
The Steam Room, Sauna and Whirlpool are in separate areas on poolside. Instructions and safety signs are posted in plain view and must be read before using and complied with by those using these facilities. The Owner shall not be liable for consequences of any person failing to follow such instructions.
The last entry to the Club is 9.15pm weekdays and 6.30pm weekends. The fitness studios and pools must be cleared 15 minutes before closing time to allow adequate time for showering and dressing.
To access any of the exercise/aerobics classes all members are required to report to the class instructor to sign in. Members’ children are not permitted on the Resort whilst parents are exercising in either classes, the gym, in the swimming pool or in the relaxation areas.
Members and their guests are advised not to undertake strenuous physical activity for which they might be medically unfit. We advise you to have a medical check-up before embarking on strenuous exercise.
Before using either of the gyms or attending exercise/ aerobics classes a Health Questionnaire / PAR-Q form must be filled in and your blood pressure checked.
Members should not use the Club facilities while under the influence of alcohol, anti-coagulants, vasoconstrictors, narcotics or tranquillizers. Those with diabetes, heart disease, high/low blood pressure or any acute medical condition should check with their doctor or members of staff that it is safe for them to use the Club’s facilities.
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use either the gyms or exercise classes.
Gym shoes and appropriate exercise clothing must be worn at all times in the gyms or when participating in classes. In the interest of safety and etiquette to other gym users all weights must be returned to their racks immediately after use.
Members may use the resort facilities listed in the “Benefits” section in their new member packs. Under no circumstances will any member be allowed to use non-listed facilities. Failure to observe this rule will result in curtailment of membership.
Badminton and table tennis are included as part of the membership from 6.00 pm and are bookable at Palms reception on the day of play. Squash is bookable 7 days in advance at Palms reception.
The Bowlers Bar is available to members to use between 5.00pm - 10.00pm daily and is the only bar available for members for general use. (Access to the Bowlers Bar is not permitted during Resort All Inclusive Breaks.)
No members will be allowed on site outside of Palms normal opening hours, neither will member’s children be allowed on site outside of the normal children’s times as in Palms. At no time will any person under 16 years of age be permitted to use Club facilities unless accompanied by an adult member who shall at all times be responsible for that persons conduct.
Children are only permitted on site during the advertised Palms children’s times and must comply with the supervision rules below.
Pool Supervision Rules
Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult on a one to one basis.
Children under 8 years of age must be supervised & accompanied by a responsible adult in the pool at all times.
Children aged between 9 & 12 must be supervised by a responsible adult on poolside (or in the pool).
Children aged between 13 & 15 must have a responsible adult in the building at all times.
Adults are strictly limited to 3 children under 12 per adult on a supervision basis.
These rules are in place in the interest of child safety and must be obeyed at all times. Failure to follow these rules will result in children being asked to leave the pool.
Recommend a Friend
Referral credit can only be awarded to a currently active membership account, this credit will be applied to the "referring" members account card within 7 days of the recommended friend successfully joining Palms Health and Fitness Club.
If the ‘referring’ membership is cancelled or otherwise expires and is then subsequently not renewed within a period of 3 months from that memberships expiry date, any related credit will be removed from the ‘referring’ members account.
Credit will only be given to the “referring” members account when their details are given at the time of the “referred” member joining.
Credit cannot be used on tobacco or lottery products.
Cannot be used against offshore membership, or in conjunction with any other discount or offer.
Facebook and Resident Photographer Pictures and Videos
Pictures and videos are taken on Resort for publication on our Facebook Page and other social media channels. If you would rather not appear in these photographs and/or videos then please make this known to the photographer at the time. All photographs remain the property of Potters Resort.
Subject to availability. Saturday nights only. Spa night begins at 7:30pm, please do not arrive any earlier. The spa night will conclude at 11pm, please be ready to vacate the facility at this time. Minimum of 12 guests, maximum of 25 guests.
Minimum age for guests is 18 years old, younger guests are at the discretion of the club manager and must be agreed with the club manager at time of booking.
A non-refundable deposit of £10.00 per person is required upon confirmation of booking. The remaining balance must be paid 7 days prior to the event. We ask that any food allergies or intolerances are mentioned at the time of booking.
Buffet boosters, although individually priced, must be booked for the total number of guests.
Optional mini massage upgrade must be booked and paid for at the time of booking. Optional aquasize class must be booked and paid for at time of booking.
Alcohol may be consumed by guests over the age of 18. Any alcohol must be purchased through Potters Resort, bringing of own alcohol is not permitted. We would advise against drinking alcohol and swimming. Alcohol may stop being served if the duty manager deems it unsafe whilst using the pool facilities.
Gift vouchers are only valid until the date shown, and cannot be redeemed after this date has expired.
No refunds in full or part will be made. No change will be given if the voucher total is not utilised and cannot be credited against other products.
Gift vouchers can only be redeemed against products and facilities in Palms.
