Why would you need a personal trainer?

Why would you need a personal trainer?
A personal trainer ensures clients are performing exercises correctly and efficiently. They are there to correct your form and technique, to be able to promote your training and to prevent an injury (if your form is not correct, you are at an increased risk of injury).  In order to maximise your results you need to be training the correct way and if you’re not sure if you are, maybe a personal trainer would be beneficial to you.

One of the main reasons a personal trainer is good at what they do is because they are trained to teach others how to exercise correctly and it is as simple as that. Exercise is also a significant percentage of your overall fitness, alongside nutrition and lifestyle being a huge part of the picture, there is lots of research to prove that exercise is a massive part of the puzzle.
Our instructors are there to educate you if you don’t know which exercises are most effective for the goals you wish to achieve or the muscle groups you would like to work. This will help you successfully achieve your goal.
For example if your goal is to build the strength or size in your upper body but you spend most of your time doing cardio then the chances of you reaching that goal would be very slim. On top of this you may know exactly what exercises do what, but if your form isn’t correct. Then you’re not getting the full benefit of the exercise and potentially putting yourself at risk of an injury that would set you back.
One of the main reasons people benefit from a personal trainer is that they lose motivation to stick with a consistent exercise programme. Personal trainers can provide structure and accountability, and help you develop a lifestyle that encourages health. They can create a workout suitable for your needs and training goals too. A trainer will take into consideration your health conditions and injuries to plan a safe and efficient workout. When you choose to work with a personal trainer they help you to focus on results and prevent you from wasting time doing inefficient workouts which may not be helping you reach your goals.
Here’s a photo of the wonderful Brian with his Personal Trainer, Jordan. He completed his 6 week introduction in July to help him progress in his road bike racing. He’s a huge inspiration for us and we love helping him out in the gym!

Specific Goals and Needs of the Client
Losing weight and decreasing the amount of fat you obtain in your body can be a tricky process and everyone reacts to diets and exercise differently. Our metabolic rates and bodies work differently, so even just your gender can play a huge part in a weight loss programme.  Our personal trainers know how to tailor a programme to fit your needs and to enhance your progress to its fullest to reach your goals and results.
Muscle gain is a routine you have to follow in and out of the gym. The kitchen is a great place to start but sometimes we have all the commitment but not the knowledge to reach the goals we aspire to achieve. That’s where your personal trainer becomes your key to success, they can write your meal plans from full meals to snacks and vitamins, and also write you a programme for every day of the week and give you the guidance you need for when you’re not training with them.  Muscle gain can be for many different reasons and it can be a great confidence booster, improve your diet or be for a competition.
Are you training for a 5k run or even a marathon?  A personal trainer can help to build your cardiovascular endurance correctly and safely. You need to ease your body into long periods of cardiovascular training gently to avoid horrible side effects and without tiring yourself out too soon. A personal trainer can prepare you for any event you may have planned or even help if you just want to improve your cardio skills to enable you to participate in everyday activities without feeling breathless.
Personal trainers are there for you and have all the time you need to answer any questions to make you feel secure and happy with the workout and services you receive. They can help you feel more confident in yourself, in and out of the gym, or help with your diet. A personal trainer could be exactly what you need and there is no harm in trying it for one session and seeing how you get on.
If you are a complete beginner a couple of sessions with your personal trainer will give you the knowledge to succeed on your own. You can book a training session once a month and set new targets to keep you on track and learn new exercises.
If you want to work out in the gym or at home, a personal trainer can train you anytime and anywhere, so time and place never become excuses for missing your feel-good exercise routine.
